Daphné Laurier-Montpetit

Fascinated by the sea and marine biology, Daphné studied ecology at the Université de Sherbrooke. During her studies she also worked as a naturalist guide on the Mille-Îles River, an experience that persuaded her to pursue a career in scientific interpretation. She then found herself at the Saguenay–St. Laurence Marine Park, working as a diver-naturalist with Explos-Nature. Since 2011, her great versatility has been put to good use at Espace pour la vie, where she’s held positions in interpretation, animal care at the Biodôme, and scientific communication on board the Sedna IV. And it was her participation in the 1000 Days for the Planet mission that inspired her to take up a career as a biologist in scientific communications. She worked at the Institut de recherche en biologie végétale (IRBV), in collaboration with the Insectarium, on the Monarch Mission project.
