Barndoor skate
This skate has a flattened body, a pointed snout and fairly smooth skin. There are several mucous pores marked with black spots on its ventral surface, and several rows of spines on its tail.

Barrow's goldeneye
This is a rather plump diving duck. The nuptial plumage of the male (black and white) is quite distinctive; notice the white crescent on the head, which is black with purple highlights.

Common eider
Common eider males (winter and nuptial plumage) have black bellies and white backs, a black cap and a green wash on the nape. The female resembles a large brownish duck.
