Canadian bunchberry, bunchberry dogwood

This plant often grows alongside wood sorrel and northern clintonia. The three plants form a major plant community. Canadian bunchberry false corolla attracts insects to the real flowers, which would otherwise go unnoticed. The petals and stamens are elastic and react to an insect's touch. Some birds, chipmunks and mice eat the berries.
