Cinnamon fern

This fern lives in relatively open forest habitats, where it colonizes the banks of streams. It prefers more shade than the other two Osmunda species growing in Québec, although it is also found in fields and moist pastures. It also grows in speckled alder thickets, silver maple stands near water, some marshy meadows, the edges of peat bogs and even in peat bogs themselves. Like interrupted fern, it is found in eastern Asia and eastern North America.
