Narrow-leaved cat-tail

This perennial species flowers in summer.
The flowers are unattractive, odourless and without any nectar. Fertilization occurs only when pollen falls onto the female flowers located below the male flowers.
The seeds of this cattail are dispersed by wind and sometimes by birds, when they cling to their feathers.
