Porcupine-grass, bottlebrush grass

The stem of this plant grows 60 to 120 cm tall. Its leaves are 6 to 12 mm wide and rough on the upper side. Its flowers form an 8 to 17 cm-long spike. The spikelets, or small spikes formed of one or two flowers, are wide spreading and 8 to 12 mm long.
