Twinflower

This 10 cm tall plant sometimes covers vast expanses of the forest floor with vine-like runners that grow close to the ground. The stem is covered in fine hairs. The leaves are almost round and grow in pairs. It bears pink, trumpet-like flowers, always in groups of two at the end of an upright stalk. The flowers give off a light fragrance that is perceptible because they all open at the same time.
