White baneberry

This species is frequently found in maple forest, on clay and humid soil, rich in humus. It grows mostly in shade or semi-shade conditions. White baneberry prefers rocky maple stands. It is found throughout western and central Québec, from the St. Lawrence to Rimouski, as well as in the Saguenay and Lac Saint-Jean regions. Elsewhere in Canada, it grows from Manitoba to Nova Scotia. In the United States, it is found from New England south to Georgia, and west to Alabama, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
