Ecological transition can be entirely endured or partially chosen
In the face of the unprecedented ecological crisis confronting humanity, Espace pour la vie has partnered with the Université de Montréal to present Chemins de transition.
This ambitious initiative aims to bring together the academic community and key stakeholders in Quebec society to collectively address the most complex challenges of the ecological transition. Its objectives are to better understand, define, and debate the potential trajectories Quebec society could take to embark on a transition toward a desirable future.
Chemins de transition: a project structured around three major challenges
The project tackles the challenges of transition focusing on three major areas, which serve as a framework to question our way of life and map out the trajectories we can take to successfully achieve the socio-ecological transition.
1. Food challenge
How can we provide healthy nutrition to an ever-growing population without depleting the earth’s resources, especially in the context of climate change?
2. Territory challenge
How can we inhabit Quebec’s territory in a frugal and resilient way within the context of ecological transition?
3. Digital challenge
How can we align the digital transition with the ecological transition?
Chemins de transition is a knowledge mobilization project. Expertise from various specialists is drawn upon throughout the initiative, and citizens' contributions were actively sought during the citizen workshops organized for each area of focus.
