Description

The Main Exhibition Greenhouse is spread over two floors and includes a mezzanine overlooking a central space.

Throughout the year, the Main Greenhouse transforms to showcase seasonal plants in a constantly renewed setting.

In the spring, a themed exhibition highlights plants, their beauty, their uses, or fascinating facts about their adaptive mechanisms.

In the fall, a Halloween-themed event invites children to explore the world of Cucurbitaceae.

The Main Exhibition Greenhouse is located at the western end of the Jardin botanique’s exhibition greenhouse complex. It is open to visitors only during spring and fall events.

History

The Main Exhibition Greenhouse has been hosting large-scale floral and themed exhibitions since its opening in the spring of 1986.

The winter event Butterflies Go Free took place there for many years. Butterflies can now be admired year-round in the Great Vivarium at the Insectarium.

For decades, it was also home to the witch Esmeralda, a favorite among children.
