Monarch Oasis

Testimonial

This is our 8th year since we created a garden to attract/save/protect bees and butterflies.

This year when we were home, we counted 22 days that we saw a monarch or more in our garden giving us a total of 38 monarchs, 2 days we had 3 at a time, 3 days we had 2 at a time, 3 days we had 4 at a time and the other 14 days we only saw 1. 3 monarchs were spotted in July, 6 in August and 29 in September.

This year when we were home, we counted 40 days that we saw a Red Admiral or more in our garden giving us a total of 76 Red Admirals, 20 days we had 2 at a time, 4 days we had 3 at a time, 2 days we had 5 at a time and the other 14 days we only saw 1. 19 Red Admirals were spotted in July, 38 in August and 19 in September.

We also had the pleasure to see a hummingbird on the (5th of August), 4 Swallowtails on the (16th of July and the 5th-6th,12th of August). 4 White Admirals on the (23rd, 27th x2 and the 28thof August). 1 American painted lady on the (27th of August) besides the other kind of insects/birds that visit our garden.

There were less honeybees this year but lots of bumblebees and cabbage whites.
