My Space for Life Garden

If you choose to have your garden biodiversity-certified, it means that you meet the following three mandatory criteria:
  • Diversify your plantings: integrate, if possible, trees, shrubs, conifers, perennials and annuals (depending on available space).
  • Make sure to have plants with flowers or berries throughout the season to feed pollinators, birds and so on.
  • Maintain the garden in an environmentally friendly way: choose suitable plants, apply compost, use water wisely, show tolerance, etc.
What other criteria does your garden meet?
If you choose to have your garden bird-certified, it means that you meet the following three mandatory criteria:
  • Provide shelter for birds (trees, shrubs or hedges)
  • Provide a source of varied food in all seasons (plants producing berries or seeds) and a source of shallow clean water
  • Maintain the garden in an environmentally friendly way: choose suitable plants, apply compost, use water wisely, show tolerance, etc.
What other criteria does your garden meet?
If you choose to have your garden monarch oasis–certified, it means that you meet the following three mandatory criteria:
  • Choose an appropriate space to create the butterfly garden: a calm setting, sheltered from the wind, and sunny
  • Put in appropriate plants: milkweed and nectar-producing plants
  • Maintain the garden in an environmentally friendly way: choose suitable plants, apply compost, use water wisely, be tolerant with insects, dislodge pests manually or with a stream of water, and so on
What other criteria does your garden meet?
If you choose to have your garden edible–certified, it means that you meet the following three mandatory criteria:
  • Grow a diversity of edible plants (vegetables, herbs, edible flowers or berries), depending on available space
  • Integrate into the arrangement a diversity of plants that supply a source of varied food throughout the season for useful wildlife (pollinating insects, birds, etc.)
  • Maintain the garden in an environmentally friendly way: choose suitable plants, apply compost, use water wisely, demonstrate tolerance, etc.
What other criteria does your garden meet?
Give your garden a name by highlighting its outstanding features.
Photos of your garden
It’s on the basis of your photos that we’ll be able to determine whether your garden respects the established criteria to qualify for certification. Your photos must demonstrate:
  • The garden as a whole (at least 1 photo)
And depending on the type of garden :
  • Biodiversity Garden : at least 1 photo showing that the garden contains a diversity of plants that attract useful animals (pollinators, butterflies, birds)
  • Bird Garden : at least 2 photos showing that birds have access to shelter (trees, shrubs or hedges), to a source of varied food (plants, feeders) and to a source of water (a birdbath, for example)
  • Monarch Oasis : at least 1 photo of milkweed
  • Edible Garden : at least 2 photos showing that the garden contains a diversity of edible plants and a diversity of plants that feed useful animals (pollinators, butterflies, birds)
Upload a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 7 photos (depending on your garden specifications).
Prefer horizontal photos (landscape format).
Files must be less than 8 MB.
Allowed file types: png gif jpg jpeg.

This information will be used to geolocate your garden on a map.
