WAZA announced the accreditation of the Montréal Biodôme on August 10, 2021. This was a key step for Montréal Space for Life: animal welfare, conservation and scientific research, protection of biodiversity and the link between humans and nature are paramount values within its institutions.

WAZA is the global association of zoos and aquariums dedicated to the care and conservation of animals and their habitats worldwide. Its purpose is to establish, maintain and improve the highest standards in zoos and aquariums. It ensures that these standards are met and promotes the development of superior facilities.

The Biodôme is also a member of Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA).
