Let the « Metamorphosis » begin!

  • Space for Life, Insectarium

On February 21, a press conference was held to announce the start of the Metamorphosis project at the Space for Life Insectarium. Indeed, from March 11, 2019 until the summer of 2021, the Insectarium will experience a true architectural and scenographic transformation, a fabulous metamorphosis in harmony with nature.

An immersive and educational journey in the fascinating world of insects

From the underground tunnels, the visitor will experience the world in the skin of an insect. He will then emerge to find himself in a Great glass vivarium where he can observe insects year-round, including butterflies go free. The tour will also showcase the magnificent collections of mounted insects in a spectacular dome and offer a series of creative workshops to reimagine the world with insects as a source of inspiration.

An award-winning concept!

The Metamorphosis project was barely out of the drawing boards of a consortium of five architectural and engineering firms that won the international competition launched in 2014, that it had already won the Canadian Architect Magazine's Award of Excellence in December 2018. A recognition that foreshadows the success and beauty of the project.
