Are summers are so short in Quebec that you grasp every opportunity to get outside and reconnect with nature? Well, here’s your chance to celebrate summer and music at the same time, comfortably seated in front of a stage nestled under the crabapple trees. Every Sunday afternoon, from June 25 to August 27, Montréal Space for Life invites everyone to the fourth season of The Arts Put on a Show at the Garden. As part of its 2017 Here’s to Life! program of activities, 10 intimate concerts will be presented in the very heart of the Montréal Botanical Garden, a peaceful and verdant setting for music lovers. Before the show, listeners will want to enjoy this unique opportunity to admire the peonies, irises, lilies and daylilies in glorious bloom in the Flowery Brook garden or to stroll through the many impressively authentic cultural gardens.
The 2017 line-up, put together by artistic director Jean-François Gagnon and producer Sylvie Lavoie, throws the spotlight on local songwriters, composers and performers. The various artists have been asked to give acoustic shows focusing on “natural” music without complex arrangements, so you can look forward to discovering their repertoire in a simple, unadorned style. It’s a chance for audiences to appreciate the very essence of the melodies, lyrics and songs, through the many performances in this splendid natural setting.
These 10 talented artists will be joyfully combining the arts and nature, for your listening pleasure.
