Espace pour la vie is proud to present the 20th edition of Seedy Weekend, an event held at the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan and organised by Cultiver Montréal, a multisectoral network that supports, promotes and contributes to the development of all forms of agriculture in the greater Montreal area.
Seedy Weekend is the annual meeting place for gardening enthusiasts and local producers alike. It’s the perfect place to swap and share seeds, stock up on new ones, purchase gardening equipment and take advantage of the opportunity to expand your knowledge by attending talks and educational workshops, offered free of charge all weekend long.
We are proud to point out that this event was born out of Montreal’s urban agriculture community movement. Initially carried by the organisations Action communiterre, the Dépôt centre communautaire d'alimentation and the solidarity organisation Alternatives, the torch is now in the hands of Montreal’s agriculture network Cultiver Montréal.
This year's event celebrates 20 years of access to our plant heritage and the involvement of women in agriculture. These themes, which we take to heart, will be highlighted in the conference program.

About
Cultiver Montréal is a new network of organisations and businesses active in urban farming working to make Montreal a green, nurturing city.
Espace pour la vie is made up of four attractions on the same site: the Biodôme, Insectarium, Jardin botanique and Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan. These four prestigious municipal institutions form Canada's largest natural science museum complex. Together, they are launching a daring, creative urban movement, urging everyone to rethink the connection between humankind and nature and cultivate a new way of living.
