Canadian wild ginger

Perennial native to Québec. This fairly quickly growing plant can form beautiful ground cover in the shade. It has large velvety heart-or kidney-shaped leaves. The spring flowers, tan to purple and pubescent, are hidden close to the ground at the base of the leaves.

The species is considered vulnerable in Québec.
