Song sparrow

Although these birds are mostly monogamous, the male will sometimes mate with more than one female. The female generally lays 3 or 4 eggs. Incubation lasts 12 to 14 days and probably begins as the last egg is laid. Both parents care for the young hatchlings for 23 or 24 days. Two to four clutches are produced each year.
