Face-to-face with an animal care officer: Anne-Marie Plante

Behind the scenes at our institutions there are all kinds of individuals who cultivate the art of understanding and caring for our live collections. These avid experts invite you to share their passions in these short videos.

Enriching the Biodôme animals’ day-to-day lives

This week we offer a face-to-face with Anne-Marie Plante, animal care officer at the Montréal Biodôme and responsible for animal enrichment. Designed to encourage animals to express their normal patterns of behavior, enrichment enables the residents of the Biodôme to multiply their experiences and their choices on a daily basis. It makes sure to offer challenges tailored to the animals abilities: not too easy, not too difficult – and not too destabilizing! Anne-Marie reveals some of the enrichments offered to animals at the Biodôme and fills you in on what they can expect for Boxing Day…

On December 26, it's Christmas for the animals at the Biodôme.
