With a background in agronomy, Stéphane Labelle has worked at the Montréal Biodôme since the very beginning. In addition to being part of the institution’s design team, he was responsible for the choice of plants for the Laurentian Forest and Gulf of Saint Lawrence ecosystems. Supervisor of the horticulture team until the early 2000s, he currently is responsible for plant protection and serves as consultant for plant collection development. He sees to the maintenance of a balance within the ecosystems between numerous plant pests and their respective predators. His professional interests are many: botany, tropical plants and the native plants of Québec, spiders and insects.

Stéphane Labelle is a conservation and phytoprotection officer at the Montréal Biodôme.
