19th Annual Seedy Weekend Coming Up

Montréal, February 11, 2019 -

February 16 and 17, Space for Life is proud to present the 19th annual Seedy Weekend organised by Cultiver Montréal and the Amis du Jardin botanique de Montréal [Friends of the Botanical Garden]. This huge annual gathering, which attracts over 3,500 people each year and coincides with the start of the urban planting season, highlights locally, ecologically grown heritage seeds.

The festivities, being held for the first time at the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan, will take place all weekend and will include seed producers’ stands, talks and educational workshops, all free of charge. It’s a perfect opportunity for professional and amateur gardeners alike to come and discover hundreds of unusual and little-known varieties of great seeds, ranging from organic flowers to vegetables and edible climbing plants, as well as a range of solutions and equipment for all kinds of urban vegetable gardens. Something for every gardener!

Whether you want to get advice on producing your own seeds or top up your supplies, come browse the stands for special access to an abundance of urban farming, gardening and eco-food businesses.
A word to the wise: this is a friendly, hospitable place to discover the rich variety of our plant heritage!
