A kitchen garden for biodiversity

Ornamental plants or berries in your vegetable garden? Why not!

Want to attract pollinators, butterflies, other beneficial insects or birds to your vegetable garden? Nothing could be easier. All it takes is diversifying your garden and making space for a few plants that produce fruit or seeds. That will give you a layout that produces food, is ornamental, and is attractive to animal life!

An exchange of services!

Flowering plants attract pollinators to the vegetable garden. The blooms provide nectar and pollen, which contain sugar and proteins, among other things. Pollinators, once they’re in the garden, will also pay a visit to the vegetables’ blooms, which will be pollinated in turn, thereby fostering the production of vegetables and fruit.
