Answers
1. What is included in the birthday party package?
Designed for children ages 5 to 13, available on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 a.m. or 1:30 p.m., the package includes:
- Admission to the Biodôme for up to 8 children and 1 accompanying adult (additional participants can be added if needed)
- A themed birthday activity (total duration: 3 hours 30 minutes)
- A small gift bag for each child
- A private room equipped with all the materials needed for the activities (including tableware: plates, cups, spoons, forks, and tablecloth)
- A sink and a refrigerator available for your use (no oven or microwave is available)
2. What does the birthday party schedule look like?
The party begins with a video featuring a Biodôme professional presenting their work. The children then participate in an activity related to the selected theme, followed by an exploration of the Biodôme through an observation game. Back in the party room, they continue the game and enjoy the birthday cake.
Here is an example schedule:
- 10 min: Arrival time, payment, greeting the children, and moving to the room
- 10 min: Introductory video: presentation by a Biodôme professional related to the chosen theme
- 50 min: Hands‑on activity (varies depending on the theme)
- 10 min: Introduction to the Biodôme visit: presentation by a science educator
- 10 min: Cold snack break (snacks not included; please bring your own — no microwave available)
- 1 hr 20 min: Exploration: observation game in the Biodôme
- 10 min: Game results and surprise discoveries
- 30 min: Cutting and enjoying the birthday cake
3. Where and when should we check in upon arrival?
Please check in at Level 100 of the Planetarium, at the Group Reception desk. If you are arriving by car, access is through parking lot P5, Level 1. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive full documentation with all arrival details.
4. Can we arrive earlier to decorate the room ourselves?
No. It is not possible to arrive earlier to decorate the room. A colorful tablecloth and tableware will be provided.
5. Is it possible to celebrate two children at the same time?
Yes. You may celebrate two children at the same time, as long as the total number of children does not exceed 12 (including the birthday children).
6. Do we need to bring the cake, snacks, meals, etc.?
Yes. You are responsible for bringing the cake and snacks (cold items only, as no equipment is available to heat food).
7. What is the maximum number of participants allowed?
The group may include 1 to 12 children. It is not possible to exceed 12 children. For adults, 1 to 4 accompanying adults are permitted.
8. Are birthday candles allowed?
Yes, birthday candles are allowed. However, sparkler‑type candles are not permitted.
9. Do all Espace pour la vie museums offer children’s birthday packages?
No. At this time, only the Biodôme has the resources and capacity to offer these packages.
10. How can I receive my 15% discount as a member of the Friends of the Biodôme or as a Passeport Espace pour la vie holder?
The 15% discount applies to the $300 package as well as to additional children (additional adults are not eligible).
The discount will be applied on site, on the day of the party, at the time of payment, upon presentation of a valid membership card or an active Passeport Espace pour la vie.
11. What code of conduct must children follow at the Biodôme?
The Biodôme is a place where children can experience a privileged connection with the animals, but this must be done respectfully and safely. To learn all the rules, please consult the Biodôme Code of Conduct.
12. How can I book a birthday package for my child?
