Do I have to buy my tickets before I visit?

To avoid disappointment and waiting in line, we are strongly recommending that you buy your timed tickets online.

Do you offer guided tours?

No, but you can put questions to the science educators at the various ecosystems and use the mobile app or an identification guide to learn more.

Is the Biodôme accessible to people with reduced mobility or with strollers?

Yes. Also, you can borrow wheelchairs and strollers free of charge. To find out more about the wheelchair loan service and guide dogs, go to our adapted services page.

Are there any plug-in terminals for electric cars?

Yes, there are two plug-in terminals in the parking lot at 3000 Viau Street. The rate is $2.50 per session. Please note that you still have to pay for parking ($12) if you use a charging station.

Are there areas for breastfeeding?

Yes, two areas have been especially set up for breastfeeding. 

How can I download the mobile app to visit the Biodôme?

The mobile app for visiting the Biodôme is downloadable for free from the App Store and Play Store. It is available for iOS and Android (minimum release required: Android 6 Marshmallow and iOS 11).

If you don’t have a compatible mobile device and want to visit the Biodôme using the mobile app, go to the Société des Amis du Biodôme (Friends of the Biodôme) counter, located in the Biodôme lobby, where you can borrow an iPod at no charge. You’ll need to leave a piece of photo ID (driver’s licence or medicare card) to borrow the device.

Is there a restaurant?

Yes, our gourmet counter offers a full vegetarian menu with hot and cold plate options.

Are there any microwave ovens on site (that I could use to heat a baby’s bottle)?

Yes, there are microwave ovens in the breastfeeding rooms.

Does the Biodôme accept animal donations?

The Biodôme de Montréal can, depending on its needs and on a case-by-case basis, accept donations of live animals that are representative of its ecosystems, that is the Tropical Rainforest of the Americas, the Laurentian Maple Forest, the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Labrador Coast and the Sub-Antarctic Islands.

Where can I eat lunch? Can I buy a meal at the Biodôme?

Food is not allowed in the Biodôme ecosystems. There is a cafeteria with tables for visitors who have brought a lunch. In addition, the restaurant Vego offers a full vegetarian menu with hot and cold plate options on site.

How much time do I need to visit the Biodôme?

For the Biodôme, as with other Espace pour la vie institutions, the duration of a visit varies from one person to another depending on their level of interest. We recommend that you plan to spend between an hour and an hour and a half at the Biodôme.

Can I spend the night at the Biodôme?

No, you can’t spend the night at the Biodôme at the moment.

Is there a parking lot?

Yes, it is located five minutes away on foot, in front of the Centre Pierre-Charbonneau, at 3000 Viau Street.

Parking costs $13.25 for the day, and your ticket is valid for the three Espace pour la vie parking lots: the one at the Biodôme, the one at the Jardin botanique and the one at the Insectarium. (Note that the price of parking does not include admission to the museums.)

How many animals are there at the Biodôme?

There are more than 2 500 animals (about 200 species) and more than 800 varieties of plants.

Can children’s parties be held at the Biodôme?

No, the Biodôme does not have rental spaces for kids. However, it is possible to rent the Atrium, the Entrance hall or the Mezzanine.

Can photos be taken at the Biodôme?

You may take photos for personal use in the ecosystems. However, the use of a flash is forbidden. Monopods are accepted, but not tripods, which will be held at the box office during your visit.
